Caribbean Net News is reporting that divorce is looming for actress LisaRaye and her husband, Turks and Caicos Islands [TCI] Premiere Dr. Michael Misick, in the wake of rape allegations leveled against him. In April, Misick was accused of sexually assaulting a U.S. citizen on a visit to his and LisaRaye’s home in the TCI. It was reported that the female visitor in question was a friend of LisaRaye’s. Misick denied the allegations in a televised statement within the next two days. But other media sources, including Internet sites and Bahamian newspapers, reported that Misick admitted there was sexual contact but claims that it was consensual.Rumors of cheating and infidelity have followed the couple’s two-year marriage, but have never been confirmed. LisaRaye told Caribbean Net News on Tuesday: "I understand the interest my fellow Turks and Caicos Islanders have in this matter. But I hope they will understand that I have no comment to make at this time." Madness right? The only kudos I'll give to LisaRaye is for her stating that she 'have no comment to make at this time,' when she could have easily lied and gave the standardized, 'I trust my husband and I know that he is innocent of these allegations, therefore I will continue to stand by him'-type of comment. To tell the honest truth, Clara... I personally would never be with a Jamaican man.... Most of them who come here from Jamaica are looking for someone to use and take advantage if not infect them with HIV/AIDS. My girlfriend was with someone who is Jamaican, and he messed her over BAD. He messed up her credit by getting her involved in a scam (She didn't know it was a scam til it was too late). He always acted like he was mad at the world. I REPEAT, I am not saying ALL Jamaican men are like this, but A LOT of them are.
I am not even going to lie---I won't mess with a west indian man to save my life and I am west indian! I have had to deal with (on top of everyday relationship problems) being drug in the middle of scams and also physical abuse. The last straw was when my last boyfriend was behind my back getting stolen items sent to my house. The police came to my door and he was sitting right on the couch and denied everything even though they said they would put ME in jail!
I also think I had one boyfriend who tried to use witchcraft on me because of some strange stuff I found out about.
I ONLY deal with African American men now and things have been going MUCH better

I remember before I got saved for real, I was messing with this Jamaican guy who moved here to NY from Jamaica just about a year or two before, and once, when we were intimate... he rolled over and told me, "I have AIDS"..... Then I just looked at him with TOTAL shock on my face.... and he waited about close to what seemed like forever and told me he was just joking.... But I don't think he was.... I have been tested several times before AND after then, and the tests come up negative. >>
I had one boyfriend who I found out was doing God Knows what back in Jamaica. I told him I wanted to use condoms and he had the nerve to slap the crap out of me. He slapped me so hard that blood came out of my nose. The only way he left my house is because I grabbed the phone and pressed 911. He jumped up and left.
I've also have had my feel of being involved in scams by the men I was dealing with. I myself never do anything to break the law, but the men I was involved with was deep in the crap and when the police came into the picture I was left out to dry and I was innocent.
I have been dealing with African American Christian men and I have had MUCH better luck in my life.
I think it has a lot to do with the poverty and lifestyle. Almost everyone wants what the people in America has in terms of wealth. They might not want to say it but they do. To be honest it's not just the men who are not worth much either. I have female family and old friends that I do not even talk to because they are always on a scam or worse.Some of the women can be just as underhanded because of the men. But back to the men, I think what women in the US don't understand is the west indian man's mindset. Many (not all) are terrible liars and cheaters. The violence is another thing too. I always tell the few American friends I have made here to NOT get involved with a man fresh from the Islands. You are playing with fire.
One of my co-workers was dating a man from my homeland--Jamaica---and she told me she thought he was cheating. I told her to just pay attention and if she catches him in lies, then he probably is cheating. so the next week after she told me this, she comes to work with stitches in her forehead. She privately told me that she followed him and caught him going to another woman's house and when she approached him as he walked to the doorway, he punched he to the ground. Sorry to say but he was illegal so calling the police would do no good.
I hate to say it, but I distance myself from a lot of people from where I came from. They seem to always have stealing and wickedness in their minds.
First thing, ignorant dishonest lot, Men and Women have the same weaknesses women seem better at lying about and hiding them. The Premier of Turks and Caicos is from Turks and Caicos not Jamaica and most Caribbean people are different from each other owing to cultural, religious and idealogical differences. It also seems that you all and your friends (being similar) are attracted to the same lowlife criminal who would want to run off to the failing economy of the US based on the lies that you earlier soon to be deported lot have sent back to our beautiful Island. So dont try to put all of us in the same pot as your obviously poorly selected men. How did Aids get to Jamaica? Did it just appear or did loose men and women from the US and what every country you all have ran off to take it back to JA? Our country might be smaller and the people have a harder time developing themseles and their families but we dont need this kind of garbage being thrown about. I like Lisa as an actress she is funny and attractive more power to her as a black woman pressing ahead. A much lower than you think percentage of Jamaicans are bad, but more than eighty percent are very hard working regular people with the same fragility as anyone else. Another thing, how many of you are balance sheet wealthy versus income statement or credit (virtually) wealthy? I live in the country of my birth Jamaica, I own my own house as well as other valuable properties and I have never hit or mistreated my wife of 12 years with 8 years before that of togetherness. My children both go to private schools and even though I came from a poor back ground I am advanced in the process of being Balance Sheet Wealthy. None of my parents ran off to the US like you lot and as much as I shop there regularly I have no intention of assuming your cedit driven kind of existence. i love my country and there are millions of us who think like this.
Guess what my friends are of equal standing. We do not need to take credit to vacation or shop in the US, many of us are educated and living above your virtual existence dont be so high on your lack of self esteem or rather your false sense of importance based on being in a perceived first world country. From recent news reports and the descovery of the truth about many former Caribbean Nationals now residing within the US, that the US has raised up a nation (which is viewed as a giant in the world) of credit junkies living waay above heir means. I could say this all based on the sensationalised National Economic down turn but I am sure it is not rue for the majority of Americans who I think and have experienced as hard woking professionals. So lay off the bashing and generalising.
Bad people exist every where. Also based on the publisized devorce rate the US is no different that any other country in this regard cheating is based largely on poor selection based on shallow criteria as well as incompatibility and a breakdown in communication and mutual interest. It is not gender specific or nationality specific. Educate yourself and free your mind.
