CALL HIM 'DR. KNOWLES.' BEYONCE'S DADDY RECEIVES HONORARY DOCTORATE FROM FISK UNIVERSITY.

Beyonce's record boss daddy Mathew Knowles has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from his old university. Knowles, President and CEO of Music World Entertainment, was bestowed with the honor of Doctor of Humane Letters from his alma mater Fisk University at their Commencement 2008 Ceremony. Mr. Knowles is best known as the powerhouse management behind the success of Grammy Award-winners Beyoncé and global phenomenon Destiny's Child, the most successful "girl group" in the history of pop music. Knowles Sr. was picked out for his work steering the careers of his daughter and her band Destiny's Child, and his work as head of label imprint Music World Entertainment. Fisk University holds the distinction of being the first Historically Black University to induct members into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa national honor society. The school produces more African Americans who go on to earn doctoral degrees in the natural sciences than any school in the nation. Hazel R. O'Leary, Former U.S. Secretary of Energy under the Clinton Administration, is President of Fisk University.
