MAG SCANS: WILL SMITH & HIS DAUGHTER, WILLOW IN JET MAGAZINE.

I would write a little blurb about Will's reasons and whatnot for casting and/or allowing his daughter, Willow, to co-star beside him in his upcoming movie I Am Legend, but I really don't feel like it...so I'll just post the pictures for now.

KANYE TO FULFILL MOM'S LAST WISH BY MARRYING HIS FIANCEE, ALEXIS IN A WINTER WEDDING BY THE END OF 2007.

Kanye West is planning to fulfill his mother's last wish, and marry his fiancee Alexis Phifer by the end of the year (07). The rapper has decided not to stall his marriage plans in the wake of his mother Donda's tragic death last month because he knew she wanted him to settle down. However, before his mother's untimely death, the rapper told GQ magazine, "I'm just going to go and get married -- I'm not going to make a big deal out of it. It's not to prove anything to anyone -- it's for me, for stability in my life, and I'm so happy that I found someone that I really love, that challenges me, that keeps my life interesting, that's just as crazy as I am."

According to a press release: Kanye will celebrate the New Year (2008) as a married man, if his fiancée Alexis Phifer has her way. The blushing bride-to-be accepted West's romantic marriage proposal during an Italian vacation last year (06) - and she admits the couple is planning a winter wedding. Asked when she'll become Mrs. West, Phifer gushes, "Before the year is up."

A friend of the family tells the National Enquirer, "His mother's sudden death brought into focus just how short life really is. Kanye doesn't want to wait any longer to make Alexis his wife. He believes that this is what his mom would want him to do. Kanye knew how much his mother loved Alexis and how she was looking forward to seeing them married."

Before her death, Donda went public with her feelings for her daughter-in-law-to-be, calling Phifer "a very outstanding young woman," adding, "I can't think of one negative thing I would say about her - even in private." West's mother died earlier this month (Nov07) after undergoing a tummy tuck and breast reduction in Los Angeles.

JAY-Z ON HOW HIS FATHER'S DEATH MADE HIM A BETTER BOYFRIEND TO BEYONCE. & WHY HE FEARS FATHERHOOD..

Multi-media mogul and platinum rapper Shawn Carter a.k.a. Jay-Z, says the 2003 death of his estranged father has made him become a better boyfriend to his longtime girlfriend and R&B singer Beyonce Knowles by helping him open up emotionally and taught him the importance of dealing with emotional issues. 'When I was young, the person I looked up to most was my father, and once I experienced that hurt, the separation from the guy you thought was Superman, you never want to feel that hurt again,' Jay-Z explained. The rapper believes his relationship with Beyonce has improved as a result of his emotional bravery. 'I'm sure she thinks I'm closed off. I'm working on it. Just trying to deal with emotional issues, taking them on proactively. Before, I wouldn't even address it,' he said.

Jay-Z's father had left him when he was just 12 years old and the father and son only reconciled just before the father's death. Ain't God good?

And may I add, I can definitely see the results of him opening up. Just a couple of years ago, he adamantly stood his ground and proclaimed that he'd never, ever share any details regarding his relationship with Bey. Back then, he was notoriously private about his life with Knowles, and at that time, he insisted that side of him would never change. While conducting an interview with GQ magazine in 2005, before the reporter could finish asking him that question that he knew was coming, Jay said, 'We're not going to talk about that at all. It's self-explanatory. I don't talk about it. Certain things you have to keep private." Just like that, huh, Jay? LOL!

However there was a time when the richest rapper in the entertainment industry shared his fears of eventually diving into fatherhood...with Beyonce of course, bless his heart. This was around the time of his retirement from rap, if there's such a thing. Anyway, he said he feared having kids with Bey because he was so afraid that their children would physically resemble him and his side of the family more than they would Bey and her family...

...and although he knew he had endless amounts of dollars and swagger and whatnot, in the end, having all the swagger and money in the world does not mean your future kids will turn out as being aesthetically appealing as you would like them to be. I AM BULLSHITTING LIKE A MUG! HE DIDN'T SAY THAT! Hey, what can I say?! It's Saturday and I ain't got nothing else to do!

This is the real deal, okay? The real reasons Jay feared he'd never be able to have kids is because; one, he know he would adore them so much he'd never want to leave the house; and two, he'd be an overly protective father...especially if he had little girls. Awww, now, how sweet is that? Bless his heart..again! He added, 'I'm really scared to have kids because the way I love my nephews, I don't think I'll be able to go outside. I'll never want to leave my kids.'

Does Jay love the kids or what! Even the ones that aren't his.

CELEB BABY NEWS: USHER'S MOM SAYS HER GRANDSON IS ' SUCH A BLESSING. I'M HAPPY FOR MY SON AND HIS WIFE'; USHER JUST HOPES TO HAVE A PEACEFUL CHRISTMAS

Well, I guess nothing brings a nearly estranged and dysfunctional family closer together than the addition of a newborn baby. Looks like Usher's mother, Jonetta, has finally come around in accepting Tameka as her son's wife OR at least as the mother of her firstborn grandchild OR maybe it was the birth of her grandson that softened her up a bit. I think this is the first time I have ever heard her acknowledge her son's wife in a positive way through a public statement ever since Usher and Meka-Man-Man (I'm sorry...I probably shouldn't have said that, but oh well...) hooked up.

AND WHAT THE HELL THEY MEAN BY 'the hardships he and Foster had to endure before they wed, as America's black media and jealous fans turned on them, will make any future marital issues...' ?! THEY BETTER STOP PLAYING!

R&B star Usher has an extra special reason to be thankful for the safe birth of his newborn son - because it ends a year of drama for the singer. The singer and his new wife Tameka Foster, the owner of Swanky Image Group and Hides & Dungarees denim and leather collection, welcomed baby Usher V into the world last Monday (November 26, 2007)in an Atlanta hospital. "We are so happy and proud of our beautiful son," the couple said in a statement. "What a blessing!" Now, the multi-platinum artist is now hoping for a peaceful family Christmas. He tells Essence magazine, "Man, this has been a hard year, but it's taught me courage. It's taught me strength... It has taught me what it is to stand as a man, really." And Usher insists the hardships he and Foster had to endure before they wed, as America's black media and jealous fans turned on them, will make any future marital issues easy to solve. He adds, "Tameka and I have been fortunate enough to go through the thick of it in the beginning. We've had the opportunity to huddle up as a team, to make sure that we're clear and speak as one voice."

Usher's mother and former manager, Jonnetta Patton, told PEOPLE that her new grandson is God's gift to her son and his wife, just in time for the holidays. "I'm extremely excited and filled with joy about the birth of my grandson, Usher Raymond V. He is beautiful, precious, healthy and such a blessing. I'm very happy for my son and his wife. God has truly blessed them with a special gift. This will be an amazing holiday season for all of us." The newest Raymond is the first child for Usher and the fourth addition to their blended family. Tameka has three sons from previous relationships.

“Tameka’s given me one of the greatest gifts I’ll ever have. With a child, now I have purpose. I understand love,” Usher said in the October issue of Essence magazine which marked the couple's first interview together as husband and wife. Tameka added, “This is the man I love and plan to spend the rest of my life with, so why wouldn't I want to share that bond of bringing another life into this world with him?”

On the music front, Usher has promised his fans that he's busy working on new material and expects his album to be ready next year. The Grammy-winning star also hinted at a new tour as he met screaming fans who flocked to Macy's in Lakewood, Los Angeles last week, to catch a personal appearance from the artist. Usher - who was in town to promote his new his and her fragrance - said: "How many of you guys are ready to see me back on stage? It's coming really soon."
