T-BOZ TAKES BLAQUE UNDER HER WING; GROUP TO STAR IN THEIR OWN NEW REALITY SHOW, 'BLAQUE BY POP DEMAND.'

Looks like TLC's T-Boz and Chilli are going to be quite busy in 2008. And by busy, I'm not referring to the never-see-the-light-of-day release of their individual solo albums which were supposed to in stores by the end of '07. Anyhoo, the following press release (which I received in my inbox four days ago. I know, I got to do better) almost flew completely over my head. And although I love me some TLC, I'm not too sure how I feel about T-Boz taking the girls of Blaque a.k.a. TLC's mini-mes, under her wing in hopes of reviving the girl's careers as R&B artists. Especially when T-Boz and Chilli received so much slack after shunning R U The Girl with T-Boz and Chilli? reality show winner, O'So Krispie after the show wrapped.

Where have all the singing groups gone? They seem to be a thing of the past. Not so fast… the reemergence of Blaque, brainchild of TLC’s Lisa (Left Eye) Lopes, shatters the notion that girl groups are relics of times gone by. The upcoming show, reportedly titled Blaque by Pop Demand, chronicles the reintroduction of this already well-known group to the world. Now mentored by Tionne (T-Boz) Watkins, we all get a “front row seat,” as the third biggest-selling girl group of all time, TLC, pass their tiara to the capable hands of the only group truly birthed by the original.

There have been many whom have tried to capture the allure and style of TLC; however, Blaque is the only group that can legitimately capture the essence of their predecessors, while incorporating their own distinctiveness, which enables them to move forward in a fresh and thrilling direction. The three vibrant performers that make up Blaque are: Shamari Fears, Natina Reed, and Brandi Williams; they need not stand in anyone’s shadow. These women are proven artists, stepping back into the scene to recover “music” in its purest form.

AFTER THE JUMP, READ MORE ABOUT BLAQUE'S BLAQUE BY POP DEMAND REALITY SHOW AS WELL AS A LIST OF GUEST STARS WHO WILL MAKE CAMEO APPEARANCES.

Rumor has it that the show will be populated with cameo appearances, by Ronnie DeVoe of New Edition (husband of Shamari Fears), Kurupt (ex-fiance of Natina Reed and father of her son, Trent), T-Boz, and Da Brat, this fly-on-the-wall TV show promises to deliver all that it should. Fans will want to watch as these forcefully dynamic women claim their rightful position in music history.

Ok! I was so happy to hear that this is true! This site is the bomb, cuz if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have known about the Blaque show. This is what I found on the web somewhere:

It has been reported that Natina Reed, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins (former lead singer of TLC), Akbar Cojoe (Entertainment Manager & Producer), Marlon Campbell (Film Producer/Former Rapper), Amir "AJ" Murray (Mauldin Brand Agency/Family Over Everything Executive), Michael Mauldin (former President of Columbia Records and father of music mogal Jermaine Dupree), Demmette Guidry(former senior vice president of Urban music for Warner Bros. Records Inc. & Columbia Records/manager of Gospel recording artists, Mary Mary), and have been filming a television reality show based on the lives of R&B trio Blaque. The girl group has recently been seen in Atlanta, cameras in tow, at music producer Timbaland's promotional party for new recording artist, Keri Hilson -The Way I Are, and is said to be preparing for a 2008 CD release on Geffen Records entitled Beauty.
