MARY J. BLIGE & JOHN LEGEND OFFER WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO BRITNEY'S 16 YEAR OLD KNOCKED-UP SISTER, JAMIE LYNN

Wait, wasn't she supposed to be the good-girl Spears? Only by comparison, y'all! The pregnancy of Britney Spears' 16-year-old sister Jamie Lynn has been the topic of conversation everywhere from The View to Nickelodeon, the teen-oriented cable channel that airs her television show Zoey 101.

Last week, Mary J. Blige offered support and maternal advice for the famous teen through MTV, saying: "Stay strong, baby girl. If that's her choice [to keep the baby] then congratulations. Hope she's responsible and I hope she understands what that brings. You have to change your lifestyle so [your children] can look at you as an example. It's all about Mommy being an example, Jamie. That's what it's about," she said. John Legend also told MTV: "My sister had a baby when she was young, so I know what it's like, and…it's going to be difficult, so I hope her family supports her and takes care of her. It's hard for a young mother." On The View, Sherri Shepherd said she wanted to take a steak knife to the "virginity-stealing heathen" who put Jamie Lynn in a family way.

When she heard the news, big sis Britney called West Hollywood celeb-baby emporium Petit Tresor, according to the Web site TMZ.com. Brit ordered her sister a Tuni & G tank top with "Hot Mama 2 B" stitched across the front. And Lynn Spears, Britney and Jamie Lynn's mom, put a last-minute hold on her new book about parenting, Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World. It had been marked for a May 11, 2008—Mother's Day—release. Upon hearing the news that Jamie was pregnant, Lynn said, "I didn't believe it because Jamie Lynn's always been so conscientious. She's never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby."

For her part, the mom to be at the center of it all is making baby plans. She told OK! magazine she intends to raise her child in Louisiana - "so it can have a normal family life," whether or not dad is doing time. Nickelodeon has not made an announcement on the fate of Zoey 101, but the network said it will consider producing a special about teen pregnancy to be hosted by Linda Ellerbee.
