CONCERT TO BE HELD IN MEMORY OF GERALD LEVERT IN ATLANTA THIS WEEK (9.29)

Gerald 'Teddy Bear' Levert hasn't been gone for even a year and yet it still feels as if we just lost him yesterday. He is sorely missed. The O’Jays, Levert, Angie Stone and The Manhattans will perform at the Atlanta Civic Center (395 Piedmont Avenue) on Saturday (Sept. 29) in memory of the late crooner. The concert, billed as A Salute To Gerald, will be hosted by Wanda Smith of V-103’s Frank & Wanda Morning Show and feature both Gerald’s father, Eddie Levert and his brother Sean Levert, an original member of Levert.

For more information or to purchase tickets ($56 and $76), please call (404) 523-6275 or visit http://www.atlantaciviccenter.com/.

The sultry-voiced R&B balladeer was found dead in his home on November 10, 2006 of an apparent suicide. However, three months after his untimely demise, a coroner ruled that the singer's death was caused by an accidental combination of prescription narcotics (Vicodin, Percocet and Darvocet), anxiety medication Xanax, and two over-the-counter antihistamines making his official cause of death as acute intoxication.
